Our body is capable of incredible things however most of the time our mind gets in the way and tries to protect us to keep us safe
Everest Basecamp for me was one of those moments where I really struggled.
I struggled for many reasons well should I say my ego did.
There was people in my group who were far older than me that seemed to do it with complete ease whilst I was literally focusing on every single step.
Comparison came in and my mind was started to race about why I wasn't good enough to make it.
It was also a humbling experience as in a lot of situations in my life I end up being the leader and in this one I was one of the people at the back who was getting pep talks and encouragement from those Infront.
I remember cursing at my body for being so weak and fragile and started to spiral in my stinking thinking.
However something shifted and I moved into boss mode and determination kicked in.
This photo represents the moment I'd made the decision that I was going to get there.
I had 100% trust in my body, yes maybe I hadn't done any specific training as it was a spontaneous trip but I'd had a lifetime of situations that had prepared me to move beyond my mind and connect with my body.
When was the last time you felt about this with your body?
When was the last time you treasured the moment like it was your last?
We get so stuck in our minds stressing about what we should or could have done in the past and beat ourselves up or we are so worried about the future and what could go wrong that we forget to live.
We forget to be. This moment was one that there was so much strain on my body that it needed me to be 100% present in the now.
It was a glorious feeling.
What moments have shocked you back into your body and out of your head?
