The ideal time to sleep is from 10pm to 6am. This gives our body the perfect amount of rest at the perfect times to rest and repair our organs and body systems.
Challenge is in our modern society we generally don't have the wind down time like traditional societies.
Back before technology smothered us 24/7 we lived more Intune with nature we used the sun, moon and stars to guide us.
Now for many the last thing people look at is their phone before they go to bed and generally they have it very close to their head when they sleep and the Wi-Fi is normally kept on overnight rather than being switched off.
Fun fact organs go through cycles of repair throughout the day and night, its the thyroid and adrenals that repair between 9pm and 11pm which are responsible for energy transfer, temperature and metabolism.
9-10 should be used to relax and read then 10pm sleep time, issue is most people are "relaxing" by watching their favorite show, or just "one more" Netflix episode. Tv, computer, tablets and phone screens are like mini strobe lights, plus the blue light which confuses the body as it thinks its midday sun.
So people go to sleep tired but wired and this is one of key contributors to why we have so much adrenal burn out and thyroid issues.
Another fun fact between 5am and 7am is when the large intestines repair, this is the perfect time to drink water and go for a brisk walk, this is also the worst time to have caffeine, but many need their coffee to start the day. So no wonder why there are so many gut health issues.
How can essential oils help well there are so many ways including be added to your night time routine.
A habit I am aiming towards is no technology after 8pm, 7pm would be even better.
Vetiver is a great oil to put across your forehead, on the bottom of your foot and in a diffuser before bed, it also now comes in a roller which makes it even more convenient.
If you put vetiver on an hour or so before bed it will start to wind you down and get you ready for a deep sleep.
If you can get into the habit of this your whole sleep cycle will change and the deeper the sleep the more energy and vitality the next day.
