This memory popped up today and each day I am truly amazed at how far old Nick has come, Its also exciting knowing in 5 years time I'll look back at where I am today and be bloody proud of the effort and courage to continue to go out after my dreams.
Here's what I wrote all those years ago
There were many times on my journey that I wanted to give up and throw in the towel to prove to all the doubters and nay sayers that they were right. That I wasn't worth it. That I couldn't go out after my dreams.
But what kept me going was all the things that I am grateful for. Take this picture of my old car. I never named her but If I would have it would have been a tough decision between Faith and Hope.
I did Diamond Club twice with this precious car and a lot of the time I was hoping to get there. Not only because of the weird noises that were being made, the crack on the windscreen that was getting bigger and bigger every day.
But because I could barely afford petrol and if something did go wrong with the car I had no funds to fix it.
I had ignored what society had taught me and I had put all my eggs in one basket following my dreams and listening to my heart.
So I think Faith would have been a better name for my old car because I really did have faith that everything was going to be ok.
Who else would drive numerous trips of 2 to 3 hours plus with barely enough money to have the return trip in petrol and a little bit for food.
So I am grateful for my old car who went to heaven a couple of months back. You decided to go to rest when I was only a few minutes away from home.
Now as much as sometimes living life on the edge is great for your journey there was so many times I was praying for a miracle and a little bit of guidance.
