The squat is one of the seven primal pattern movements, believe it or not most of the western world can't do one functionally let alone with weights.
When you focus on correct form and get all the intrinsic stabilizing muscles firing correctly first you will be amazed at then how quickly you can advance how much you can lift without injuring yourself.
