Truth is I used to use alcohol to numb myself.
I actually think many men do this as they are afraid of sharing their heart.
I truly believe us men are way more sensitive then society makes us out to be.
I reckon yes physically we may be stronger than women but emotionally we are more tender.
Women seem to be just so bloody emotionally resilient.
The way us men have seemed to cope is to actually lock our hearts away and pretend it's not there.
Through coping mechanisms like alcohol we have become like tin man.
Where we pretend we don't have emotions or feelings and we lock them away and throw away the key so we can never get hurt.
Unfortunately or fortunately for us men, women have this innate ability to find our hearts and start to restore them.
The challenge is this intensifies our feelings which we have suppressed for so long.
I truly believe that every man's deep desire is to have a wife and to raise a family even the biggest of party boys, players and jocks.
To be loved, appreciated and vulnerable.
Men if you have started to feel things and it's making you feel uncomfortable, ungrounded, less manly all I can say is through that you will actually become the most masculine you have ever been.
Bad news is you can't escape it the only way out is through.
Good news is there is many of us men who have now been through this shit show and to be honest it's not as bad as you think it's gonna be there are some great mentors and tools out there.
For me my weapon of choice is essential oils purely because they are simple easy and practical.
So if you want some guidance just reach out trust me being the tin man gets old you have a heart and it's actually your greatest gift.
