For a majority of the population this answer unfortunately is no. I too was there.
Where does this lack of self love come from?
Largely society drums it into us that we are not good enough mainly through advertising loaded with false promises.
Coca Cola is a great example. All their ads are super fit people drinking coca cola and having the best time. In reality though this is not what happens. At best, you get a high sugar rush which gives you a small amount of joy followed by a severe crash in energy and mood with long term health effects of obesity, diabetes or many other major health concerns.
One exercise I give my clients is Mirror Work. I get them to look into their eyes and say these words that were taught to me by Paul Chek. "I love you baby, oh how I love you, You are fantastic."
Many people struggle with this, they have trouble looking at themselves, and even if they can look at themselves when they say these words they don't really mean it.
However, over time with consistency something magic happens. Each day a little bit more self love sneaks in. postures changes, smiles start occurring and eventually you can look into the mirror confidently, say those words and truly mean it. You form a deep admiration for yourself and are beaming with joy and pride.
Although this is a simple activity, most people unfortunately won't be consistent. This is why having a coach is so powerful. The accountability is what helps us form a routine and eventually it becomes a life affirming habit.
You are worth a life of Freedom and fulfilment. Freedom from the negative self talk and judgment is a core part of this.
