Homesteading - Dogs
Every homestead needs a couple of dogs as they fill the place with so much joy and laughter.
Whilst for bigger farms they are ideal for helping to round up livestock for our little homestead the Dogs are here to remind us whats life is all about.
This is a photo of Aleric and Amy a year ago where he had got into the chickens food and had a fat belly.
Since Aleric was a puppy he has had so many friends on the land, lots of chickens, his friend Splinter the mouse who has sadly passed, Zena our old neighbours dog who used to break in to come and play, Aggy his besty, the ducks which although he wants to play with them they don't want to play with him and he is terrified of them standing behind us so we keep him safe. His newest friends are the goats which although he has been head butted a few times they are all getting along and being part of the gang.
All the animals even though they can be annoying sometimes like today. Aleric had been for a swim and we lock him outside after that but he is too clever and realised Amy's office door was open and he came zooming into the house sliding everywhere having an absolute blast. We could only laugh.
This is what life is all about
